Moonta Mines Museum contains works on the life on a miner, with a very hands-on approach for kids.
The museum is located in the former Moonta Mines Model School. Erected in 1878, this building now houses thematic displays on the Cornish miners' lifestyles - mining, lodges and friendly societies, sports and pastimes, death and hardship; extensive displays of costume, china, silverware, photographs and memorabilia and a classroom furnished circa 1900.
There is also a display on the World Wars and a recently opened display "Our Cornish Connections".
Moonta Mines Museum opens every day over the SA School holidays from 11am to 4pm.
Multi ticket admission is available to Moonta Mines Museum, Miners Cottage and the Moonta Mines Tourist Railway.
Note: Should the weather forcast be 37 and above the previous night, all sites except the Tourist Office and Sweet Shop will be closed.
